My daughter has been going to LeDe-Hab for the past couple of months. She has not been in a day hab for over a year and a half. We thought it would be a rough transition. Paige can’t wait to go. She was only scheduled to go 2 days a week. We are already increasing it to three days a week in January. She talks about the day hab even on the days she does not go. Since going to LeDe-Hab, our daughter has been happier and more outgoing.

My 14 year old with severe Cerebral Palsy and difficulty with communication just spent the last week with Le De Hab having the time of her life! It’s “second spring break” for her school. We were going to try this place for one day, and then get on with our usual spring break activities. Gigi had so much fun though, that she begged to go back every day, and wants to keep going, through the rest of the school year, all summer, and basically forever. Go figure! During the day, the clients sing, dance, play games, puzzles, color or paint. Their physical needs are attended. The main room has everyone seated in a rough circle with activity desks. There is a calm down room for those who need a break from stimulation. Queese, Aubrey and Mama T are all very encouraging and supportive of the clients, helping them build confidence and unlock their potential. Clients this week were a mixed age group, teens and adults, perhaps a couple of younger kids were there one day. sometimes there are field trips. Gigi loved the crafts, sharing her favorite song and dance with everyone, and getting to help clean tables and do her own dishes after eating. It was also surprisingly cost effective, even as a private pay client, and considering what Gigi and I normally spend entertaining ourselves during a spring break, it wasn’t much different that what I already budget for a “vacation”. So this coming summer, we’ll probably return at least once a week to give mom a weekly respite, and for a full week as a “day camp” so Gigi can spend more time with her brand new favorite people.
